THE BEGINNING OF A LEGEND

Most of, if not all of the history of these people have either been stricken from the history books, or passed off as mythos, but that is far from the case. When Prometheus stole Apollo's fire to bestow it upon humanity, Nemesis herself did not come to seek retribution for his hubris, rather it was a proxy, a champion chosen by the goddess that had come to bring Prometheus his due punishment, eternal crucifixion with an ever-replenishing liver for the eagle to feast upon.

And as thanks for the deed, Apollo decided to make it two-fold, making the champion of both the Sun and Judgement, gifting the champion with the flame that Prometheus had stolen from him from the beginning. And so, one of the first demigods is born unto Earth, but not as natural divinity, rather earned through duty to the gods.So why IS this tale so unknown ? Why did people go to great lengths to bury such a noble tale of worship and loyalty ?That is because like most things in life, we tend to let our gaze fall upon the bright lights, even if it means we cannot see the malevolent darkness lurking beyond it ...

THE UGLY TRUTH

These keepers of the peace are typically true to their namesake, but in all the wrong ways. They kept the law and order of the Gods, not of man, any man or woman who did not worship the Gods would be found and punished accordingly, from public flaying to death by animal slaughter, there was no limit to their cruelty because Nemesis believed there was none.Their numbers grew as time went on, from one to five, and then five to ten. These champions had the initial blessing of Nemesis, and an additional blessing from a God they completed a task for, one such example is the transformation of Medusa, granting a champion the blessing of Athena.Such cruelty did nothing but stoke the slowly-growing fire within mankind's heart, a flame that burned for defiance against this outrageous treatment, a flame that burned for these crimes to be punished.A flame that burned for RETRIBUTION.

THE FALL

As is the fate of all regimes, they are never to last for eternity.Such is the case with the Champions, who faced the rage and anger of the people first-hand for their reign of terror that they imposed upon them. One of the more well-known slayers of these monsters was none other than Diomedes, who made quick work of many of the Champions, finding them little to no challenge when compared to his bout with Ares and Aphrodite.Even Achilles had unknowingly participated in the culling of the Champions, when he struck down Boagrius, who had been blessed by Nemesis and Ares at the time due to him successfully inciting the war with Mycenae.Hunted to apparent extinction, historians unanimously agreed to strike these tyrants from the history books, if there's nothing to be curious about, then no one will go looking for a way to attain this power. But unfortunately, nothing in this world is entirely forgotten ...

A MILLENNIA OF HIDING

After the collapse of their order, the remaining three champions retreated into the old temple in Rhanmous, Attica. This place of worship for Nemesis seemed far too obvious at first, but what the people did not know is that those blessed by Nemesis would see it as so much more, as the ground gave way to a staircase within the main chamber, revealing where the Champions once congregated.A giant, underground shrine, from which they were once granted their blessings by drinking from the fountain of judgement, a never ending stream of Nemesis' divine blood that grants blessings to the worthy, and death to the unworthy. It was there that they would remain, for years, then decades, then centuries, their Goddess was merciful as to not make them require food or water to survive down there, only a small gulp from the fountain would sustain them for months before needing to take another drink. It wasn't until 1821 that the Champions emerged from their safety to a whole new world, a world they did not understand, and so they opted to try and understand what had happened for the past millennia or two. And as time passed, they ultimately decided to part ways and live their own lives. This was a world where no God had even a fraction of the control they once had all those years ago ...Why should they care about what they think anymore ?

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?

The original champions have long since passed, the harsh truth dawned on them rather quickly.Without the power of the Gods, they were no longer immortal, their bodies had resumed their aging process, and they would eventually die. Each one individually decided to have a successor, and the cycle repeated as the father or the mother informed their children about their family secret, in hope that one day, if the Gods ever return to their power once more in the world of man, that their bloodline would be chosen once again to take up the mantle of CHAMPION.That was the plan, but ... some descendants had other ideas in mind.In the year 2001, a woman by the name of Olivia Taylor gave birth to a young, healthy boy away from her lover, a bounty hunter. She'd tried so hard to escape the cycle of her family, but here she was, with a child of her own, it irritated her to her very core, this was HER life to live, she didn't owe any sort of "legacy" to her parents, she will NOT be given unwanted responsibility !And so in a spiteful rage, Olivia encountered her lover and violently blasted his left arm off with a shotgun, leaving him for dead. But she could not find it in herself to take her child's life as well.So as a replacement, she'd decided to leave him at a doorstep in Detroit, Michigan. The house of one Nicholas Parish. But nothing stops a dormant champion from heeding the curiosity and the call of their God.That's why he was here, at the center of the Temple, his vivid visions amidst the blur of hatred and anger he experienced in the Amazon had led him to this exact place. At this exact time.Isn't it time for a little FAMILY REUNION ? O' Champion of mine ?

POWERS

As befitting for a demigod, Champions of Nemesis can tap into some form of power from their Goddess, however, most if not all powers are unique to the Champions, because the power that Nemesis bestows is abstract, clay in their hands to mould.Jordan's power was formed by the sheer amount of hatred and suffering he carried, and it's reflected in usage, Agonite has always proven to be an effective torture method, or a useful combat tool.
But now ? Now it has been refined, new possibilities have opened up beyond the crude use of such hateful material, and he knows (atleast somewhat) how to use it.

KRIMA

Krima, or Judgement in English, is the blade Jordan has chosen as his primary weapon. This weapon holds the fire that was once taken by Prometheus, and gifted to the first Champion by Apollo. The blade itself, however, was forged by Jordan, to make the weapon and the flame truly his, of course. The flame itself was as hot as the sun, fitting given that it was gifted by Apollo. And with such a power comes the ability to cut through any barrier known to man, reducing anything it cuts through to ashes, or if you're unlucky, reduced to atoms.Krima is also capable of sending out Fire Strikes, flaming projectiles cast by the blade in order to catch anyone out of melee range and wipe out more than one enemy from afar. There is more potential to the blade, however, Jordan has yet to discover it, but once he begins to uncover more regarding his heritage and his predecessors, perhaps more paths will be open to him ...

TIMORIA

Timoria, or Punishment in English, is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum compared to Krima. Where Krima was to resemble Justice and Righteousness, Timoria was a weapon forged by Jordan to resemble Vengeance and Hatred.Bearing a gift from Hades, this revolver fires bullets infused with the vengeful spirits taken from the River Styx, each bullet that penetrates it's target allows the spirit to do as much damage as it can in it's vengeful rage, before eventually fading back to the River, the exact damage each bullet would inflict depended on the type of bullet Jordan would load into the gun, for reference, the power of the spirit is represented by the intensity of the it's aura, but if an individual proves strong enough, the spirit will have little to no effect, the same cannot be said for the bullet, however ...Every part of this gun was Jordan's design, a pure prototype he wasn't even sure would work, but if a breakthrough like this can be made, who knows what else he could wield down the line ...

ENVY OF ICARUS

Another ability gifted to the champions was the ability to fly, wings to rival the Angels of God, champions such as Jordan can use such powerful wings to take to the skies or disorient his enemies with massive gusts of wind caused by the flap of the wings.Being gifted with Apollos' Fire meant that it wasn't just restricted to Krima, the flame extends to his wings, creating a hazardous scenario or two for his enemies, because alongside the wind, flapping his wings hard enough would cause embers to form, and be taken by the winds, allowing him to cause objects and people to catch fire if exposed to it for long enough.

A TITAN'S WRATH

After a rigorous trial by combat within the underground temple in Attica, Jordan was granted the ability to summon and fuse with the Titan known as Prometheus, once a Trickster, his humor has long since died out after his punishment at the hands of Nemesis.Fueled by the desire to see Retribution done upon her, Prometheus grants Jordan the power to flexibly summon him in battle, be it a simple fist to punch, or a foot to stomp, all the way to summoning his entire form, and being a Titan of fire, Prometheus is capable of extremely destructive pyromancy, to say the least. Not only that, but the very primal energy of heat is at his command, allowing him to call upon molten lava and raise volcanoes and geysers alike from the earth.Similarly speaking, Jordan can fuse with Prometheus, gaining his powers, durability and physiology, meaning his blood becomes molten lava, and his skin a durable volcanic rock, combining this with his wings can prove to be a deadly combination.
